GAZIPUR, Feb 20, 2024 (BSS) - Two people, including a teacher of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), were killed in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Cherag Ali area under Tongi here this noon.

The accident occurred at around 12:00 pm on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.

The deceased were identified as Ram Chandra Saha, 42, an inhabitant in Tangail district. He used to live in Mohammadpur in the capital. He was a teacher in Engineering department of DUET in Gazipur. Another person is Didar Hossain, a Pathao driver, hailed from Araihazar Upazila in Narayanganj district.

Police said Pathao driver Didar Hossain died on the spot while teacher Ram Chandra Saha was declared dead at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital in Tongi.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi East Thana Mostafizur Rahman said police seized the bus. A case is being processed to file, he added.
