CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 31, 2024 (BSS) - Police in an anti-drug drive arrested eight persons with 10 kilograms of hemp from Sadar upazila early today.

The arrestees are Md. Monirul Islam, 35, Md. Himel Ali alias Shamsul Alam, 28, Md. Jubayer Hossain, 21, Md. Ahad Ali, 27, Md. Alamin Islam, 26, Md. Aliul Islam, 45, and Md. Mamun Islam, 35, residents of different areas in Sadar upazila and Md. Alam, 22, resident of Nachole upazila of the district.

On a tip off, a team of police conducted a raid in Nayagola area of Chapainawabganj municipality at around 5.20 am and arrested them with the hemp, said Mintu Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station.

A case was filed in this connection.
