CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Dec 11, 2023 (BSS)- A total of 2,18,072 children would be administered Vitamin A Plus in Chapainawabganj district during the Vitamin A Plus campaign tomorrow.

Medical officer of Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon's office Dr. Md. Anjim Macsud disclosed this in an opinion exchanging meeting today at its conference room.

According to the Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon office sources, in all the five upazilas of the district, the campaign would start at 8 am and continue till 4 pm in 1,204 centres.

The sources added that 1,91,434 children from 12 to 59 months would be given red-coloured capsules and 26,638 children from six to 11 months would be given blue-coloured capsules.

In order to make the campaign successful a total of 149 health assistants, 237 family welfare assistants and 2,412 volunteers have been employed, the sources added.

The medical officer said, Vitmin A capsules prevent blindness in children, ensure normal growth, reduce all types of child mortality and significantly reduce mortality from measles, diarrhoea and pneumonia.
