NOAKHALI, Dec 8, 2023 (BSS) - Robbers killed a night guard and stolen a

substantial amount of jewellery from two gold shops at Chaprashirhat Poshchim
Bazar in Kabirhat upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Shahid Ullah, 50, hailed from Char Gullakhali
village in the upazila.

Local people said the incident occurred when a gang of robbers arrived at the
market in the early hours of today and looted 250 Bhori of gold, 150 Bhori of
silver and Taka 2.50 lakh in cash from Nur Jewellers and Ma-Moni Jewellers
after killing the night guard of the marketplace by beating him with the
sharp weapon.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kabirhat Thana Rafiqul Islam confirmed.

The body was sent to Noakhali General Hospital.
