GOPALGANJ, Dec 8, 2023 (BSS) - A man was killed and four others were injured in collision between a passenger bus and a microbus on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Dumdiya area under Sadar upazila of the district last night (Thursday).

The deceased was identified as Mustafa Kamal, 55, son of Kadam Ali, resident of Barishal city.

The accident occurred when Mustafa Kamal was going to Barishal with his wife and daughters in a microbus from Dhaka. On the way, their microbus collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Rajib Paribahan coming from the opposite direction in the area around 10:30pm last night, leaving Mustafa Kamal dead on the spot and four others, including his wife and two daughters, injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Mohammad Ansiur Rahman said.

The injured were taken to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital, he said.

Later, the injured were sent to Dhaka for better treatment, the OC added.
