NOAKHALI, Dec 1, 2023 (BSS) - A woman and her daughter were killed and two others injured as a CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a truck at Atakpalia Bazar area in Charjubli union on the Sonpur-Chairman Ghat road under Subarnachar upazila of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Shilpi Akhter, 30, wife of Shukkur of Ward No. 2 in Charwapda union of the upazila, and her daughter Sharmin, 2.

The accident occurred when a Sonpur-bound CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction in the area around 11:45am this morning , leaving Sharmin dead on the spot and three passengers of the CNG injured, Char Jabbar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Aminul Islam said.

The injured were taken to Subarnachar Upazila Health Complex, where on-duty doctor declared the mother dead.

Police seized truck from the spot, the SI added.
