81 female volunteer organizations get financial assistance in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Nov 20, 2023 (BSS) - A number of 81 registered female volunteer organizations got cheques of TK 24, 75,000 as a part of helping their efforts in creating awareness against child marriage and drugs in the district.

The cheques were distributed at a function at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) jointly arranged by Chapainawabganj District Administration and district office of Department of Women Affairs on Sunday afternoon.

DC AKM Galiv Khan attended the function as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Mahbub-Ul-Islam in the chair.
 
Deputy Director of the Women Affairs Department district office Sahida Akhtar gave the welcome speech.

Assistant Director of district office of Jubo Unnayan Department Md. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of Zila Mahila Sangstha Advocate Yasmin Sultana Ruma, Panel Mayor-3 of Chapainawabganj Municipality Naznin Fatema Zinia, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Shibganj Upazila Women Affairs Officer Umme Sumaya was present at the meeting.

Each of 21 organizations from 'A' category got a cheque of Tk. 40,000, each of 27 organizations from 'B' category received a cheque of Tk. 30,000 and each of 33 organizations from 'C' category got a cheque of Tk. 25,000.

19 organizations from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, four from Shibganj upazila, 48 from Gomostapur upazila, four from Nachole upazila and six from Bholahat upazila got the cheques.
