GAIBANDHA, NOV 07, 2023 (BSS)-Hand and leg of a Station Master were severed under the wheels of a train at Mahimaganj Railway Station under Gobindaganj upazila in the district here this morning.

The victim was identified as Abdus SobhanAkand who was serving at the station as Station Master with current charge after his retirement.

According to the eyewitness of the incident, Station Master Abdus Sobhan was boarding to the Burimari-bound intercity Kartoa Express to go to his home in Gaibandha town after performing his duty. When the train was leaving the station, he tried to get up into the train. In the mean time, he fell down on the platform slipping his legs.

Then his right hand and right leg were severed by the train. He was later rescued from the spot and sent to Gobindganj Upazila Health Complex. Later he was taken to Bogura Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College for better treatment.
