PABNA, Oct 30, 2023 (BSS) - Police recovered hanging bodies of two students, including a female, from their homes in Dashuria and Pakshi union under Ishwardi upazila of the district today.

The deceased students were identified as Shahid Mal, 15, son of Amirul Islam, resident of Sultanpur Madhyapara village of Dashuria union of the upazila, and Sumona Khatun, 16, daughter of Yasin Ali, resident of Diyar Baghail village of Pakshi union of the upazila.

Sumona was a student of Ishwardi Government College and Shahid Mal was a ninth grader student of Dashuria Dargabazar High School.

According to the police, Shahid Mal, a school student, committed suicide in Madhyapara village of Dashuria Sultanpur sometime late on Sunday.

 Quoting family members, the police said that Shahid Mal allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his bed room last night, while Sumona Khatun allegedly committed suicide by twisting her veil around her neck late night, sub-inspector (SI) of Ishwardi Police Station Nurul Huda said.

On information, police recovered the bodies from the spots and sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, the SI said.
