TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, Oct 14, 2023 (BSS) - Newly formed committee of Mymensingh Metropolitan Awami league (AL) today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

Members of the newly formed Mymensingh Metropolitan Awami League (AL) Committee led by its President and mayor of the Mymensingh City Corporation Md Ikramul Haque Titu and General Secretary Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto placed a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara this noon.

Vice-President Prof. Golam Ferdous Zillu, Joint General Secretary Anwarul Haque Ripon, Organizing Secretary Md. Niaz Morshed, Deputy Secretary Shahanur Alam Shanto, leaders and activists of Mymensingh Awami League and allied organizations, among others, were present.

After laying the wreath, the leaders stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh's Independence.

A special Doa, seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage as well as martyrs of the War of Liberation, was also offered.

A special prayer was also offered wishing for longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

Mymensingh Metropolitan Awami league (AL) President Md Ikramul Haque Titu and Secretary Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto signed the visitors' book there.
