KUSHTIA, Sept 28, 2023 (BSS) - The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was observed in the district today as elsewhere across the country with due religious fervor and solemnity.

On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Prophet Muhammad (SM) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.

Marking the day, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office this morning.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Ehetesham Raza presided over the discussion.

Additional District Commissioner (General) Mosammat Sharmin Akhtar, Additional District Magistrate Md. Abdul Wadud, among others, also spoke.

After the discussion, a special prayer was offered for the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
