
KHULNA, Sept 01, 2021 (BSS) - A total of 98,028 COVID-19 patients healed
till 12 noon today out of 1,09,123 infected patients with the recovery rate
of 89.83 percent, Dr. Ferdousi Akther, Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna
division, told BSS today.
"We received 1,388 samples in Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMC) and
other samples in Jashore and Kustia laboratories in the last 24 hours and 224
persons has diagnosed with COVID-19 infection," Dr. Ferdousi added.
Among the newly detected patients, 71 are in Khulna, 32 in Kustia, 27 in
Jhenidah, 22 in Bagerhat, 20 in Narail, 17 in Satkhira, 10 in Chuadanga, nine
in Jashore and eight each in Magura and Meherpur districts.
"The district-wise break-up of 1,09,123 patients now stands 27,345 are
in Khulna, 21,133 in Jashore, 17,719 in Kustia, 9,022 in Jhenaidah,7,003 in
Bagerhat, 6,706 in Chuadanga, 6,673 in Satkhira, 4,834 in Narail, 4,045 in
Magura and 4,643 in Meherpur," she said.
The death toll from the virus reached 3,012 fatalities ---- three in
Khulna and one in Chuadanga were reported in the division during the last 24
hours.
The total fatalities included 762 in Khulna, 731 in Kustia, 461 in
Jashore, 261 in Jhenidah, 188 in Chuadanga, 178 in Meherpur, 140 in Bagerhat,
113 in Narail, 90 in Magura and 88 in Satkhira districts in Khulna division.
Among the total 1, 09123 infected people, 16,493 are undergoing
treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 98,028 have recovered
and 3,012 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their
respective homes in the division.
