NETRAKONA Sept 19, 2023 (BSS) - An octogenarian farmer was crushed under the wheels of a speeding passenger train in Challisha area about four kilometers west of Netrakona-Mymensingh railway route today. 

Station master of Netrakona main rail station Abdullah Al Mamun said the victim Habibur Rahman hailed from a village under the Challisha union of Netrakona Sader upazila. 

"The tragic accident took place when Rahman was trying to cross the rail line. He was knocked down on the railway track by a Mymensingh-bound train from Mohanganj," he said quoting witnesses.

On receiving information, a team of railway police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical college hospital morgue for postmortem, the station master added.
