BOGURA, Sept 1, 2021 (BSS) – Twenty four  more people were diagnosed with Covid-19 positive after testing 283 samples in the district during the last 24 hours till this morning.

Among the newly positive cases, 16 are in Sadar upazila, two in Gabtali upazila, three in Shibganj upazila, two in Dhunat upazila and one in Nandigram upazila of the district.

Currently, the infection rate is about 8.48 percent in the district, said Dr. Sajjad-ul-Haq, medical officer of the district civil surgeon office, while conducting a regular online briefing this afternoon.

The total number of infected people in the district stands at 21,018 while the recovery cases stands at 20,211, the health official told BSS.

A total of 83 patients have recovered from the deadly virus in the district during the last 24 hours.

With newly reported two fatalities, the death toll of the district reached 664 since the pandemic began, he added.

Dr. Sajjad-ul-Haq  said  161 infected  people are now undergoing treatment at different corona dedicated hospitals in the district while rest of the infected people are now undergoing treatment at home  quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective Upazila Health Complexes.

The health expert of the district urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
