MADARIPUR, Aug 28, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced to three people to death penalty in the Shahadat Gharami murder case of Mustafapur area under Sadar upazila of the district in 2013.
 
The court also fined them Taka 50,000 each.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Court, Judge Lailatul Ferdous delivered the verdict this afternoon. The accused were absconding in the court.
 
 The convicts are - Sentu Sharif,35, son of Sultan Sharif, resident of Ramnagar village under Gournadi upazila of Barishal district, Miraj Fakir,30, son of Mannan Fakir, resident of Kamalapur village and Fazel Sheikh,50, son of late Jinnat Sheikh, resident of Mustafapur area under Sadar upazila of the district.

According to the details of the case, Shahadat Gharami, 28, son of Moksed Gharami, resident of Baradulali village of Gournadi upazila in Barishal district, used to run his family by riding motorcycles on rent.

On the evening of September 11 in 2013, neighbors Miraj and Sentu left for Barthi with Shahadat. Later, they roamed around in different places and killed Shahadat by drowning mud water at night and escaped on a motorcycle.

Later, the body was dumped in Siki-Nowhata area of Mustafapur union of Madaripur through their relative Fazel Sheikh.

Madaripur Sadar police station recovered the body from the spot.

Moksed Gharami, the father of the victim, on September 13 in 2023 filed a murder case at Madaripur Sadar Police Station accusing Miraz Fakir, Sentu Sharif, Fazel Sheikh and several others.

After examining witnesses, the court found them guilty and handed down the punishment today.

Public prosecutor (PP) Advocate Md Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the matter.
