CHUADANGA, Aug 8, 2023 (BSS) - The 93rd birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed in the district town in a befitting manner today.

Marking the day, Deputy Commissioner Dr Kisinger Chakma, Police Super Abdullah Al Mamun, Poura Mayor Jahangir Alam Malik and Upazila Parishad Chairman Asadul Haque Biswas placed wreaths at the portrait of Fazilatunnesa Mujib on the premises of DC office this morning.

They also offered fateha and doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, Bangabandhu and the martyrs of August 15, 1975.

A discussion on Fazilatunnesa Mujib's life was also held at the Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner later with Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Hamid in the chair.

Eight sewing machines distributed among eight women and a cheque worth of about Taka 80,000 distributed among 40 persons after the discussion.
