DINAJPUR, Aug 28, 2021 (BSS) - Three officials of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), including Rangpur CID Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarowar Kabir, have been suspended for their  alleged involvement in the abduction of a woman and her son at Chirirbandar here.

Acting Superintendent of Police (SP) of CID (Rangpur Zone) Ataur Rahman said ASP Sarowar Kabir Shohag, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hasinur Rahman and Constable Ahsanul Haque Faruk have been suspended on charges of their involvement in a kidnapping incident.

Police nabbed five persons including them while taking ransom after abducting a woman and her son at Chirirbandar on August 24.

Dinajpur CID Zone Special Superintendent of Police Pankaj Chandra Roy said he was entrusted with the task of investigating the incident on August 25 as per the order of CID headquarters.

On August 26, he visited Nandail village in Chirirbandar and talked to the witnesses to crack actual information about the incident.

However, he refused to disclose any kind of information regarding the investigation.
