CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 29, 2023 (BSS): The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested an absconding accused of a sexual harassment case of three children from Shibtala intersection here in the town last night.

The arrested person was identified Md. Ansar Morol, 65, son of late Yunus Ali Dewan of Palsha village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

RAB sources said, acting on a secret information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp arrested him from the aforesaid area at 9 pm.

A woman filed a written complaint with Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana recently against the arrested person for harassing sexually to three children including her daughter, the sources added.

It was mentioned in the allegation that as the three children, students of Palsha Government Primary School, went to a grocery shop of Ansar Morol in front of the school for buying snacks during Tiffin period, he harassed them sexually and later gave them Tk. 500. He also threatened them to kill if they disclose it to anybody, RAB further added.

As it was broadly circulated in the area, Ansar Morol went into hiding, the sources said.

Later, the elite force handed him over to the police of Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana.
