Mobile court evicts 350 illegal establishments in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 10, 2023 (BSS)-Chattogram district administration in a drive today evicted over 350 unauthorized establishments built by cutting hills on government land in city’s Beltlighona hilly area of Akbar Shah Thana area.
 
The mobile court also recovered 2.88 acres of government land worth Taka 28 crore during the six-hour long drive from 10 am to 4 pm.

The eviction drive was carried out led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Touhidul Islam, of the district administration.

Assistant Commissioners land Md. Omar Faruk, Md. Masud Rana and Jamiul Hikmah in association with 80 members of Chattagram Metropolitan Police, representatives from Environment Department, two teams of RAB-7, fire service and civil defense teams, Department of Narcotics Control, PDB, Karnaphuli Gas representative, WASA and 40 Ansar members were also participated the drive, OC Wali Uddin of Akbar Shah Police Station said.

Touhidul Islam told BSS that the mobile court evicted 350 illegal structures built on around 2.88 acres of government land in city’s Beltlighona hilly area of Akbar Shah thana.

Following the direction of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chattogram to carry out eviction drive, we have evicted over 350 unauthorized houses from the said area.
The drive in other hilly areas will also be continued, he added
