RANGPUR, June 25, 2023 (BSS) - Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bangladesh Police Md. Moniruzzaman joined the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) today as the new and third Commissioner of Police.
 
"After joining, the newly appointed RpMP Chief placed wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman located at the DC Mour Intersection in the city," said a press release.
 
Later, Moniruzzaman exchanged views with officers of all ranks of RpMP at his conference room.
 
He provided necessary guidance to the police officers in maintaining the law and order situation in the cattle markets and Eid congregations on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivity.
 
He especially called upon every member of Bangladesh Police to become people's police as desired by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
 
He also inaugurated a police sub-control room at Modern Mour Intersection in the city aiming at making the journey of home-bound people easier and safe alongside saving them from muggers, members of 'Molom Party' and other unwanted incidents.
 
Additional Commissioner of Police of RpMP, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police and other high police officials were present on the occasion.
