NAOGAON, June 17, 2023 (BSS) - At least four people were killed in separate lightning incidents in two upazilas in the district today.

The victims were Khademul Islam, 45, and Md Motahar Hossain, 35, of Fatehpur village and Masud Rana, 19, of Maharandi village of Patnitala upazila, and Azizul Haque, 65, of Nitpur Sohati village of Porsha upazila.
 
Officer-in-Charge of Patnitala Police Station Palash Chandra Deb confirmed the incidents, saying that Khademul Islam and Md Motahar Hossain were killed in a lightning strike around 5.30pm while Masud Rana killed in another lightning strike in the afternoon. 

While Officer-in-Charge of Porsha Police Station Jahurul Haque said Azizul Haque was killed in a lightning strike while he was grazing cattle in field this afternoon.
