BHOLA, June 5, 2023 (BSS) - The World Environment Day-2023 was observed in the district today in a befitting manner as elsewhere in the country with a view to create awareness about the environmental pollution among the common people.
 
The theme of this year's Environment Day is 'Solution to plastic pollution'.
 
Marking the day, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of deputy commissioner's office which paraded the important streets and ended at the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office this morning.
 
District Administration and Department of Environment of the district jointly organised a discussion at the conference room of the deputy commissioner office.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Taufiq-e-Lahi Chowdhury addressed the function as chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ripon Kumar Saha in the chair.
 
Zila Parishad Chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, Deputy Director of Local Government Department Tamim Al Yamin, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Asaduzzaman, Nazarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Md. Abu Saeed, Assistant Director of District Environment Directorate Md. Tota Miah, District Information Officer Md. Nurul Amin, among others, spoke.
 
Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions among the students of the educational institutions.
