SYLHET, Aug 18, 2021 (BSS) – At least three people were killed and four others injured as a microbus lost control over steering and plunged into a roadside pond on the Sylhet-Zakiganj road in the district on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were Md Shamel Miah, 30, son of Abdul Motin of Ganipur, Juned Ahmed, 33, son of Abdul Manik of Sultanpur and Shipon Biswash, 36, son of Arun Biswash of Chayghari village under the Zakiganj upazila.

Abul Kashem, officer-in-charge (OC) of Zakiganj Police Station, said that the accident took place in Shahbag area around 6.30 pm when the the Zakiganj-bound microbus lost control over steering and plunged into a roadside pond.

The injured persons were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital .
