RANGAMATI, March 25, 2023 (BSS) - The National Genocide Day was observed in the district today in remembrance of the brutality carried out by Pakistani Army on the unarmed Bangalees on the black night of March 25 in 1971.

Marking the day, the district administration had chalked out elaborate programmes at the directives of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

On the occasion, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office this morning at the initiative of the Rangamati district administration.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman presided over the function.

Superintendent of Police Mir Abu Tauhid, Rangamati Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ICT) Nasreen Sultana, Divisional Forest Officer of Chattogram Hill Tracts South Forest Division Saleh Md Shoaib Khan and Rangamati District Awami League Vice-President Md. Ruhul Amin, among others, spoke.

Apart from this, various programs were observed in 10 upazilas of the district on the occasion of the Genocide Day.
