MADARIPUR, March 25, 2023 (BSS) - A battery-run easy-bike driver was killed and three others were injured being hit by a passenger bus in Mustafapur area under Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as easy bike driver Yar Hossain Khan, 35, son of Elias Khan, resident of Jhikarhati area in Ghatmazhi union under Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred in the area as a Barishal-bound passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan from Dhaka hit the easy-bike from behind when Yar Hossain was going to Tantibari bus stand with three passengers on board his battery-powered easy bike from Mustafapur bus stand. The easy bike fell into the road-side ditch around 12.30pm, leaving four people including the driver of the easy bike injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mustafapur Highway Police Station Golam Mostafa Rasul said.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Madaripur Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared the driver dead.
Police seized the bus, but its driver managed to flee the scene, he said

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
