MAGURA, March 24, 2023 (BSS)- Two motorcyclists were killed in a road
accident after being crushed by the wheels of a truck in front of Dawood
Munsi Rice Mill area of Arpara Bazar under Shalikha upazila of the district
last night.

The deceased were identified as Shahabur Rahman, 40, son of Nur Mohammad, and
Shakib Ahmed, 27, son of Shamimur Rahman, both hailed from Junari village of
Shalikha upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shalikha Police Station Mosharraf Hossain said the
accident occurred when a speeding truck rammed their motorcycle in the area
as they were returning home riding on it around 9.30pm, leaving the duo dead
on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent those to the 250-bed
Magura Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, he said.

Police seized the truck, however, its driver managed to flee the scene.

A case was filed in this connection and legal steps are under process in this
regard, the OC added.
