51 journalists get PM’s financial support in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Aug 13, 2021 (BSS) - A number of 51 journalists of the district today received the Prime Minister’s financial assistance to cope with the adverse impact of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

 
Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Mazumder handed over the cheques among the journalists at a function held at Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium this afternoon as the chief guest.

Journalists from electronic and print media of the district received the cheque amounting TK 10,000 each, from Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Mazumder said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a media-friendly person as she has brought most of the professional bodies including journalists under financial supports.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Harun-ur-Rashid presided over the function.

Additional Commissioner of Police KMA Mamun Khan Chishti, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, Municipal Mayor Nazrul Islam Soni, Freedom Fighter Harun-Al-Rashid, Deputy Director of District Information Office Abu Saleh Md. Masudul Islam and Naogaon Press Club President Biswajit Moni, among others, were present on the occasion.
