CHATTOGRAM, Feb 8, 2023 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today awarded 15 years of jail to two persons for trading five lakh pieces of contraband Yaba tablets in Chattogram eight years back.

 
The court of Chattogram 4th Metropolitan Additional Sessions Judge Shariful Alam Bhuiyan awarded the judgment to Md Lokman, 40, and Md Hanna, 48, for trading the drugs.
 
The court also fined Tk 10,000 each, in default, they have to serve one year more in jail.
 
According to the prosecution, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), acting on tip-off, detained drug traders Md Lokman and Md Hanna from the South Patenga area on May 13, 2015.
 
RAB official Golam Rabbani filed a case with Patenga police station against the alleged drug traders on the same day.

The court framed charges against them on February 3, 2021.
