BOGURA, Feb 5, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for killing his mother in Dhunat upazila in 2019.

He was also fined Tk 20,000, in default, of which he will have to serve another six months in prison.

Bogura District and Session Court judge Habiba Mandal pronounced the verdict this afternoon.

According to the case, Abu Bakkar, 30, of Shoilamari village hit his mother named Altafunnesa, 58, with a stick on October 12, 2015. After the incident, the injured Altafunsesa was admitted to a local hospital and she died on October 13. A murder case was filed with Dhunat Thana.
