CHATTOGRAM, Feb 5, 2023 (BSS)-At least 50 shops were gutted in a fire at city's Pahartali Kancha Bazar early today.

 Abdul Hamid Mia, deputy Assistant Director of Agrabad Fire Service tola BSS that five fire fighting units from Agrabad Fire stations extinguished the fire at about 2 am with the help of local people.

Police and fire brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in a shop at about 12.15 am and quickly engulfed the adjoining shops in the market.

Valuables worth about Tk 50 lakh were burned in the fire, said the fire service officials.

None was injured in the fire.
