JAMALPUR, Jan 25, 2023 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a

drive, on Tuesday afternoon arrested a fugitive convict, who had been on the
run since his conviction for killing his wife in 2007, from Balur Math area
under Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj district.

The convicted person was identified as Md Rezaul Karim alias Zahid, 34, son
of Md Halim at Compopur Beparipara village in Jamalpur sadar upazila.

On a tip off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in the area and
nabbed Rezaul, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Dhaka court in the
murder case, from there, the RAB-14 sources said here today.

According to the case statement, Rezaul killed his wife in 2007 over a family
feud in Keraniganj upazila in Dhaka district as he lived there with his wife.

After the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Keraniganj Police Station Mahidul
Islam filed a case with the concerned thana in this connection.

Later, the RAB members handed over the fugitive person to Jamalpur police,
the sources added.
