DHAKA, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) has called for developing a skilled workforce, strengthening research and innovation and expanding international collaboration to establish Bangladesh as a competitive player in the global semiconductor industry.

The call came at the association's 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held today at Gulshan Club in the capital, with BSIA President M A Jabbar in the chair, said a press release.

In his opening remarks, Jabbar highlighted the association's major achievements over the past year and outlined its priorities for the coming years.

He stressed the need for developing skilled human resources for the semiconductor sector, strengthening research and innovation, expanding international cooperation and exploring opportunities in global markets.

The AGM discussed and deliberated on five agenda items, including confirmation of the minutes of the 1st AGM held on September 13, 2025; consideration and adoption of the Annual Report for 2025-26; consideration and adoption of the association's accounts along with the auditor's report for FY 2025-26; appointment and fixation of remuneration of the auditor for FY 2026-27; and any other business.

BSIA Vice President (Finance) Mojahedul Haque Abul Hasanat presented the accounts of the association and the auditor's report for FY 2025-26.

BSIA Director Munir Ahmed and Kamrul Ahsan Dewanjee also took part in the discussions.

Representatives of member companies, including Neural Semiconductor Limited, Ulkasemi Private Limited, iTest Bangladesh Limited, SILICONOVA Limited, Dynamic Solution Innovators, Tafuri Technologies Limited, BALU Technologies Ltd., Prime Silicon Technology Limited, CACTUS MATERIALS LTD, Kranti Associates Ltd., ACI Semiconductor Ltd., ADN Semiconductors Ltd. and Silicon Array, attended the AGM.

The members exchanged views and recommendations on the development of the semiconductor industry, participation in major international semiconductor and technology events and exploring new global markets.

They also emphasized the need for preparing a comprehensive Semiconductor Industry Roadmap towards 2030 for submission to the government.

The active participation and constructive contributions of the member companies demonstrated their shared commitment to building a stronger, globally connected and competitive semiconductor ecosystem in Bangladesh, the meeting observed.
