BB lists 131 eligible collateral valuation firms for banks

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Bank (BB) has listed 131 institutions and companies as eligible collateral valuation firms for assessing securities submitted against loans taken or to be taken by borrowers of scheduled banks.

According to a circular letter issued by the central bank today, the listed firms have been divided into two groups-98 institutions in Group 'A' and 33 in Group 'B'.

The Bangladesh Bank's Banking Regulation and Policy Department-1 said the list was prepared under the policy on enlistment of collateral valuation institutions or companies introduced through a circular issued on November 28, 2023.

The central bank advised scheduled banks to conduct valuation of collateral provided against loans through the enlisted institutions in accordance with the relevant policy and other instructions issued by Bangladesh Bank from time to time.

The enlistment will remain valid for three years. The enlisted institutions will have to apply for renewal six months before the expiry of the validity period, according to the circular.

However, Bangladesh Bank may remove any institution from the list before the expiry of the three-year period if it fails to comply with the prescribed conditions and instructions or for any reasonable cause, the circular said.

The enlisted valuation firms have also been asked to submit annual reports to the Banking Regulation and Policy Department-1 of Bangladesh Bank by January 15 of the following year in the prescribed format.

The central bank issued the directive under Section 29KA of the Bank Company Act, 1991, as amended up to 2023, and said it would come into effect immediately.

Of the 98 firms in Group 'A', the list includes Bangladesh Inspection & Survey Pvt Ltd, Mollik Adjusters Ltd, Saybolt Adjusters Ltd, City Engineering Inspection Co Ltd, Baltic Control (BD) Limited, MSK Inspection Company Ltd, Amanah Survey & Engineering Inspection Ltd and Professional Survey and Engineering Ltd, among others.

The 33 institutions in Group 'B' include Dhaka Survey Company Ltd, Prime Consulting (BD.) Ltd, Rightway Surveyors, The Radiant Surveyors, Prime Survey & Consultancy Ltd, Asian Surveyors Ltd, Pyramid Survey and Inspection Ltd and Geotech Survey Co. (Pvt.) Ltd.
