DHAKA, Aug 19, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh received US$1.967 billion in workers' remittances during the first 18 days of August 2026, marking a 31 percent increase compared to US$1.502 billion received during the corresponding period of August 2025.
According to the latest remittance data, the country received US$80 million on August 18 alone.
The strong inflow has also pushed cumulative remittance receipts since July 2026 to US$4.826 billion, compared to US$3.980 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
This represents a 21.3 percent year-on-year growth in remittance inflows during the period from July 2026 to August 18, 2026.
