DHAKA, Aug 18, 2026 (BSS) - Grameenphone has contributed Tk 24.60 crore to the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Fund, representing 10 percent of the company’s Workers Profit Participation Fund (WPPF) for 2025.
A delegation led by Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Grameenphone Sayeda Tahya Hossain recently handed over the cheque to Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, MP, at a ceremony held at the Ministry, said GP press release today.
Labour and Employment Secretary Md Abdur Rahman Tarafder was also present, among others.
The release said in accordance with the Bangladesh Labour Act, eligible domestic and foreign companies contribute one-tenth of 5 percent of their profits to the Labour Welfare Foundation Fund.
Grameenphone’s total accumulated contribution to the Fund up to the 2024 financial year amounts to Tk 329,89,17,947, while an additional Tk 246,087,565 is being contributed for the 2025 financial year.
The company said it continues to strengthen digital and AI capabilities within its workforce while extending digital skills and opportunities to communities across the country.
