Indian business delegation begins 3-day visit to Dhaka

DHAKA, Aug 17, 2026 (BSS) - A high-level Indian business delegation began a three-day visit to Bangladesh today to explore opportunities for expanding 
bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation and strengthening business-to-business linkages.

The 14-member delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), led by its Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, will remain in Bangladesh until 
August 19, according to a press release, issued by the Indian High Commission here. 

The delegation comprises business leaders representing prominent Indian companies and institutions, including Bharat Biotech, Infravision Foundation, Godrej Industries, Arvind Limited, LMW Global, Mahindra Group, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Forbes Marshall, Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Apollo Hospitals 
and Indian Oil Corporation.

Officials from the CII Secretariat are also accompanying the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam.

The meetings are expected to focus on ways to strengthen bilateral trade and investment, enhance business-to-business linkages and identify new avenues 
for economic cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

Discussions will also cover issues of mutual interest and benefit, emerging areas of cooperation and measures to facilitate greater engagement between businesses of Bangladesh and India.

The delegation will also participate in a luncheon meeting with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo is scheduled to attend the luncheon as the chief guest.

During the event, members of the Indian delegation will interact with leading Bangladeshi businesspeople and industry representatives to explore potential 
areas for collaboration.

The visit seeks to build on the longstanding economic and commercial engagement between Bangladesh and India while creating fresh opportunities 
for expanding trade, investment and industrial cooperation.
