CSE holds training on securities law for compliance officers

DHAKA, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) today inaugurated a two-day training programme on securities law for compliance officers and authorised representatives of its Dhaka-based TREC holder companies.

The training, held at the Bangladesh Academy for Securities Market, was conducted by officials of CSE's Compliance, Inspection and Enforcement Department, including Md. Zahidul Islam, Dewan Zahidul Islam and Md. Rabiul Awal. M Sadek Ahmed, head of Training and Awareness at CSE, moderated the sessions.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, CSE Managing Director M. Saifur Rahman Mazumdar, FCA, FCMA, said the country's capital market is passing through a period of transformation, making professional training and skill development essential for effective implementation of securities laws.

He said transparency in the regulatory framework is the foundation of business success and investor confidence, adding that institutions with strong compliance practices are better positioned to achieve professionalism and sustainable growth.

Mazumdar urged market participants to combine technological expertise with strict compliance to build transparent and investor-friendly brokerage houses, thereby contributing to the development of the capital market.

He also said CSE is playing a pioneering role in introducing new products to deepen Bangladesh's capital market, highlighting ongoing efforts to establish a commodity market. 

He encouraged stakeholders to become familiar with the relevant rules and regulations to take advantage of the upcoming market opportunities.

During the programme, trainers presented detailed sessions on various aspects of securities laws, including recent amendments and proper report preparation procedures.

They also provided practical guidance on avoiding common reporting errors.

Participants described the training as timely and beneficial, saying it helped clarify a number of legal issues. 

They also requested CSE to organise similar programmes regularly to keep market professionals updated with evolving regulatory requirements.
