DHAKA, June 27, 2026 (BSS) - The 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) was held today at a Convention Hall in the capital.

In the opening remarks, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of ICSB Md. Shabbirul Alam Chowdhury welcomed all members to the AGM.

Hossain Sadat, President of ICSB presided over the meeting and placed the Council Report for the year 2025. 

The President of ICSB, in his speech, highlighted the major activities and achievements of the Institute during the year 2025, said a press release.

Among them successfully organizing the 12th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2024, 9th Convocation-2025 of ICSB, Strategy Session, Meet the Members, Chartered Secretary Day, organizing numerous trainings, seminars, workshops, CPD programmes, stakeholder engagements, MoU signing with different organizations were the major events and milestones to mention. 

He also thanked the Members for their valuable suggestions and relentless cooperation towards the development of the Institute.

A large number of Members were present at the meeting and participated in the discussion on Annual Report. They appreciated the performance of the Institute. They also asserted that the Council is working hard to successfully achieving the targets committed earlier and also to materialize the long cherished dream to elevate the Institute to a new height in turning it as a ‘Center of Excellence’.

The Audited Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ended 31 December 2025 were presented by the Treasurer of ICSB Md. Mizanur Rahman FCS before the Members. The Members approved the Council Report and Financial Statements of the Institute. ‘ACNABIN Chartered Accountants’ was appointed as the external auditors of the Institute for the year 2026.

Senior Vice-President Md. Rafiqul Islam, Vice-President Md. Sharif Hasan, Council Members, a decent number of Fellow and Associate Members were also present at the meeting.
