2 more vessels with 51,000 tons of fuel arrive at Ctg port outer anchorage

CHATTOGRAM, April 9, 2026 (BSS) - Two ships carrying 51,000 metric tons of fuel have arrived from Malayasia at outer anchorage of Chattogram port in Bay of Bengal today.  

Confirming the arrival of the vessels, Chattogram Port Authority ( CPA) Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim  said one of the Mother Tanker “ Central Star” brought 25, 000 metric tons of Farnace Oil while another one “ Eastern Queens” is being loaded with 26, 000 metric tons of Octane. 

“The process to unload the fuels on priority basis from the newly arrived vessels already began after their anchoring in the morning today,” CPA secretary said. 

CPA sources said both the ships have reached inside Bangladesh water territory on Wednesday and they arrived at outer anchorage this morning. 

Another five ships loaded with various types of fuel oils from different countries are scheduled to arrive at Chattogram port by April 15, sources said. 


Before that, a ship from Singapore brought 27, 000 tons of diesel on last Friday and unloaded the fuel at Dolphin Zetty of the port. 

CPA and BPC sources said fuel oil carrying vessels have arrived at Chattogram port one after another aiming at uninterrupted supply of fuel across the country. A total of 33 ships were anchored at Cahttogram port bringing various category fuel products from different countries in March. Of the vessels, 15 oil tankers brought fuel, 8 vessels brought LNG while rest 9 ships were carrying LPG.
