DHAKA, April 8, 2026 (BSS) - Indonesia-based multinational company Japfa Pte Ltd has expressed keen interest to increase investment in Bangladesh's agriculture and poultry sectors.

The expression of interest came today during a meeting between Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir and Japfa Pte Ltd Executive Chairman Renaldo Santosa at the Ministry of Commerce in the city, said a press release.

The discussion focused on bolstering bilateral trade relations, expanding investment opportunities, and fostering mutual cooperation for economic development.

During the meeting, Santosa highly praised Bangladesh's growing market, its promising agricultural potential, and the investment-friendly environment currently prevailing in the country.

He highlighted that Japfa has been investing in Bangladesh since 2020 and has already established production activities in the poultry feed sector.

These operations are conducted under the supervision of the local Bay Group, he added.

Santosa also shared the global scale of the company, noting that Japfa currently maintains an annual turnover of approximately $4.7 billion.

He stated that the government's policy support and various reform initiatives have resulted in a highly satisfactory investment climate.

The Minister emphasized that the government prioritizes foreign investment to ensure sustainable economic development and provides all necessary cooperation to investors.
