DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - In a significant move to bolster the governance and strategic oversight of the country's premier bourse, Brigadier General Syed Ashiqur Rahman, has officially assumed his responsibilities as an independent director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) PLC. 

He formally joined the board during its 1112th meeting held today, following the prior approval of his appointment by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on March 30, 2026, said a press release.

Brigadier General Rahman currently serves as the Commander of the 46th Independent Infantry Brigade.

He began his illustrious career in the Bangladesh Army in 1996, upon being commissioned into the Infantry Corps. Throughout his tenure, he has distinguished himself as a stellar example of professionalism, leadership, and operational excellence.
