DHAKA, Mar 7, 2026 (BSS) – A 10-day exhibition and fair of traditional handloom products will begin tomorrow at the Bengal Foundation.
A press release signed by Public Relations Officer of Bangladesh Handloom Board Noor-E-Safi Ahnaf said.
According to the release, the Bangladesh Handloom Board, with the support of the Bengal Foundation, is organising the 10-day exhibition and fair of Bangladesh’s traditional handloom industry from March 8 to March 17 at the gallery on the second floor and the open space on the fourth floor of the Bengal Foundation.
The inaugural ceremony of the fair will be held tomorrow and the fair will remain open to all visitors every day from 12 noon to 9 pm.
Various aspects of Bangladesh’s traditional handloom heritage including the process of producing yarn through hand-spinning from Phuti Karpas, the raw material of the golden heritage Dhakai Muslin, yarn winding, and the weaving process of Dhakai Muslin will be displayed.
Textiles and Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir is expected to attend the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, while State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md. Shariful Alam will be present as the special guest.
Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute Bilkis Jahan Rimi will preside over the inaugural programme.
