Nagad MD congratulates bKash   

  DHAKA, Dec 30, 2021 (BSS) - Managing Director and co-founder of Nagad 
Tanvir A Mishuk has congratulated bKash for winning the best brand award 
recently by the Brand Forum.  

  The competition of two top mobile financial service carriers -- bKash and 
Nagad -- is well known in the country's mobile financial services industry, 
but this time Nagad extended their warm hand and congratulated bKash for 
their achievement.  

  Recently bKash the market dominant mobile money carrier has won the best 
brand award by the brand forum and Nagad managing director and co-founder 
Tanvir A Mishuk publicly congratulated his business competitor and even made 
a Facebook post of his own.  

  "Congratulations to bKash for being voted and winning the title of 'Best 
Brand of Bangladesh'! This news has inspired me in many ways," Mishuk wrote 
on his post.  

  Mishuk, also the co-founder of Nagad, pointed out that a brand from mobile 
financial sector, winning the title of best brand, tells how much value this 
sector is bringing in for the people of Bangladesh.   

  Nagad started is commercial operation on March 26, 2019 when Prime Minister 
Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the mobile payment service. Within three years of 
its journey, the carrier has ensured fair competition in the market.  

  bKash the top carrier launched its service in 2011 as the second carrier 
after Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL) was the first mover. DBBL, now the third 
mobile financial carrier, is running its service under the brand name of 
Rocket.   

  In his post Mishuk also hinted their massive plan in the upcoming year of 
2022 and said "I believe and know for a fact Bangladesh is still experiencing 
only the tip of the iceberg of what mobile based financial service can 
deliver. 2021 was not even the start, perhaps just the preparation. So stay 
tuned, because 2022 is going to be far more exciting for Bangladesh and home 
grown Bangladeshi brands."  

  Currently bKash has close to six crore digested accounts while Nagad is 
just behind them with a tiny margin.  

  According to Bangladesh Bank, currently about Taka 70,000 crore is being 
transacted through mobile financial service in every month on average and 
year on year growth rate is about 40 percent.
