DHAKA, Nov 20, 2025 (BSS) - Country's both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) today plunged due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 32.37 points or 0.46 percent to 4,869.01. Two other indices also ended lower with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, plunged 15.66 points to finish at 1,877.77 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 11.13 points to close at 1,018.28.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, increased to Taka 4,454.22 million which was Taka 4,205.56 million at the previous session of the week.
Out of 371 issues traded, 238 declined, 104 advanced and 29 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Rahima Food was the day's top gainer, posting 9.93 percent gain while SIMTEX was the worst loser, losing 9.84per cent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended sharply lower with the CSE All Share Price Index – CSCX -losing 13.40 points to settle at 8,418.62.
Of the issues traded, 65 declined, 87 advanced and 25 issues remained unchanged on the CSE trading floor.
The port city's bourse traded 18.98 lakh shares and mutual fund units with turnover value worth about Taka 7.38 crore.
