DHAKA, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) successfully concluded a three-day joint training workshop aimed at boosting skill development in the capital market.
The training programmme, titled ‘Basic Orientation of Securities Market Operation,’ was organized by the DSE Training Academy, said a press release.
It took place from November 9 to 11, 2025. The workshop saw participation from BSEC officials at the level of Assistant Director/equivalent and PO/equivalent.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Md. Asifur Rahman, DSE’s Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director (In-charge); Md. Hossain Khan, BSEC Additional Director; and Syed Al Amin Rahman, DSE Training Academy Deputy General Manager.
In his remarks, Dr. Asifur Rahman stated that through the training, participants gained an understanding of DSE’s activities, technological capabilities, and service structure.
He emphasized the high quality of DSE’s infrastructure, noting that their Order Management System, surveillance system, and IT services are currently of international standard.
Dr. Rahman further highlighted the reliability of the system, mentioning that the DSE has experienced no service disruption over the past five to six years, attributing this success to the organization’s technological skill and effective teamwork.
He assured attendees that the DSE is always working vigilantly to maintain stability in the capital market.
Md. Hossain Khan, BSEC Additional Director, underscored the strong relationship between the two organizations, describing the BSEC and DSE relationship as always sincere and cooperative.
He noted that the training provides an opportunity for mutual experience and knowledge exchange.
Khan shared the broader vision for those involved in the market, stating that the primary goal is to ensure the sustainable development of the market.
The workshop provided comprehensive coverage of capital market operations. The first day focused on the capital market’s regulatory structure, stock market operations, and the role and growth of the market. Subsequent sessions included presentations given by various DSE departmental heads, who presented on their respective activities.
On the final day, participants visited several DSE departments and also toured a brokerage house.
