ICC Bangladesh to host 'ICC Global Banking Commission Meeting' in city 

 
DHAKA, Oct 19, 2025 (BSS) - The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) 
Banking Commission, Paris has proposed to hold the ICC Global Banking 
Commission Meeting jointly with ICC Bangladesh in Dhaka during October- 
November 2027.
 
The proposal was accepted by ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Meeting held 
at ICCB in the city, said a press release here today.
 
It may be mentioned that the ICC Global Banking Commission is being held 
every year by rotation in different countries and 2026 Meeting will be held 
in the United Kingdom (UK).
 
The ICC Banking Commission has 800+ members across 60+ countries. These 
meetings are attended by Members, ICC National Committees, representatives of 
Multilateral Development Banks, regulators and public agencies, banks and SCF 
providers, corporates, fintech/tech providers, DFIs/IFIs, law firms and 
insurers.
 
ICC Bangladesh Banking Commission Meeting, after reviewing the activities of 
the Secretariat during the 2025, prepared the ICC Bangladesh Plan of Action 
for 2026. The Plan includes arranging workshops for bankers, MSMEs and Women 
Entrepreneurs, and seminars or roundtables or dialogues.
 
It was also decided to hold more meetings of the Commission to discuss on key 
issues like impact of LDC graduation for the financial institutions, 
digitalizing of international trade, cyber security and other relevant issues 
for the development of the banking sector.
 
The meeting chaired by Chairman of the Banking Commission Muhammad A (Rumee) 
Ali was attended by the ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman, 
Advisor to the Bangladesh Bank Governor Md. Ahsan Ullah, BASIC Bank Chairman 
Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Former Managing Director of BRAC Bank Selim RF 
Hussain, Prime Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) 
Hassan O. Rashid, Dhaka Bank Acting Managing Director AKM Shahnawaj, Summit 
Alliance Port Managing Director Syed Ali Jowher Rizvi, Langkabangla Finance 
Managing Director Humaira Azam; BIBM Professor Dr. Shah Md. Ahsan Habib, 
Standard Chartered Bank Managing Director and CCRO Bangladesh Mohammad Enamul 
Huque, Eastern Bank Additional Managing Director Ahmed Shaheen, BIBM Faculty 
Member Khondkar Morshed Millat, City Bank DMD and Head of Trade Services
