STOCKHOLM, Oct 14, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Swedish telecom giant Ericsson reported Tuesday a sharp rise in quarterly net profit due to cost cuts and an asset sale.
Ericsson's profit after tax nearly tripled to 11.3 billion kronor ($1.2 billion) in the third quarter.
Sales fell nine percent to 56.2 billion kronor, meeting expectations of analysts surveyed by FactSet, a financial data firm.
The company said "operational excellence and cost efficiency actions" drove margins to "strong sustainable levels".
It also made a one-off gain of 7.6 billion kronor from its sale of US services unit Iconectiv.
Investors are looking for signs of a rebound in sales at major telecom equipment makers, which have been hit by slower client investment in India and weak activity in North America.
