DHAKA, July 20, 2025 (BSS) - Major General (Retd) Md Nazrul Islam took charge as the executive member (Planning and Development) of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

During his illustrious and glorious career in the Bangladesh Army, Nazrul Islam held several important positions as a command, staff and trainer at various levels. 

Earlier, he also served as the Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Export 
Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), where he set a unique example of good governance and efficiency in development activities.

After joining BEZA, he will work towards making the government's five 
priority economic zones (National Special Economic Zone, Jamalpur, Sreehatta, Moheshkhali and Japanese Economic Zones) investment-friendly within a specified time frame.
