DHAKA, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin today said that the UAE and its businessmen would become benefitted through investing in economic zones of Bangladesh.
The Commerce Adviser said this when UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdulla Ali ALHmoudi met him at his office at Bangladesh Secretariat today, said a Commerce Ministry press release.
During the meeting, they discussed issues related to improvement of bilateral relations, export of skilled manpower to UAE, introducing visa as well as related to trade, commerce and investment.
Stating that Bangladeshis have investments in the UAE, he said that the investment environment now in Bangladesh is also good.
Lauding highly the role of the expatriate Bangladeshis, Bashir said that Bangladeshi expatriates living in the UAE and in other countries are playing a very import role in the country's economy and socio-economic development.
He also urged the UAE Ambassador to reintroduce UAE visa for the Bangladeshi workers.
In response, the UAE Ambassador said that the 2nd highest number of around 80,000 Bangladeshis is now working in the UAE as well as expressed his country's interest in establishing a semi-government training institute here to create skilled human resources.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Nasrin Jahan and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce M Abdur Rahim Khan were present, among others.
