BHTPA allots plots to 9 companies for $55m investment 

   DHAKA, Sept 30, 2021 (BSS) - Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) has allotted plots to nine companies at the Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City in Kaliakair under Gazipur district and Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jashore.

   To this end, a land handover agreement singing function was held today at a hotel in the city. 

   Planning Minister MA Mannan was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest while State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present as a special guest.

   BHTPA Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh and heads of the companies signed the agreements on behalf of their respective sides. 

   Besides, Halima Telecom was also formally handed over the license to declare a private software technology park.

   Under the agreement, seven companies in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City and two companies in Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jashore will have the opportunity to invest for 40 years.

   The nine companies are - Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited, Technomedia Limited, Daffodil Computers Limited, Celltron Electro Manufacturing Services Limited, Ulkasemi Pvt Limited, Mactel Limited, Child Health Research Foundation, Reddot Digital and Felicity BigData Limited.

   The nine companies will invest around US$55 million in developing the information technology sector of the country.

   In his speech, Mannan congratulated the companies that signed the agreement and asked them to ensure the quality of products that will be produced in these factories.

   He said, "We, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, are working to change the concept of cheap labour and provide security to our investors."

   Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited got 3.01 acres of land under the hardware company category. The company will invest $6.50 million in manufacturing ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) and digital devices, while creating 1,550 job opportunities.

   Moreover, Technomedia Limited got 0.87 acres of land at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park where they will invest $2.50 million to assemble ATM, CRM and RCDM machines and create 200 job opportunities.

   Daffodil Computers Limited was given 96 acres of land where they will invest $3 million and create 100 jobs to assemble electronic devices and 1.81 acres of land was given to Ulkasemi Pvt Limited to invest $25 million in designing semiconductors and create 550 jobs.

   Meanwhile, Celltron Electro Manufacturing Services Limited was allotted 65 acres of land that set up a medical technology plant to assemble and produce medical equipment with an investment worth $7 million while creating 250 jobs.

   To assemble smartphones, Mactel Limited got 1.37 acres of land to invest $6 million and create 332 jobs.

   On the other hand, Reddot Digital and Felicity BigData Limited were allotted 21 and 45 acres of land respectively at the Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park in Jashore.
